Our Costa Rica Vacation

Okay... I have enough uploaded to share. lol.

We went to Costa Rica for the week of May 8th and had an amazing time!

We flew into San Jose and rented a 4x4... first, we drove to La Fortuna to stay near the Arenal Volcano. It's the most active volcano in Costa Rica.

These birds were so cool... they had little mohawks, and kept hopping down the trail to the volcano:



This is Lake Arenal... the biggest lake in Costa Rica... as seen from our hike up:

We found the perfect swinging vine on our hike!



After spending a couple of nights in La Fortuna, we continued on our drive towards Monteverde. The roads are really... undeveloped... so we had to take a road allllll the way around the lake to get where we were going.

We stopped off to take a picture, and this guy bounded down from a hotel yard to say "o hai!"

The patio was private and a nice place to hang out...



And here is Poas Volcano... we saw it on our last day. The cloud of smoke is caused by geysers in the crater... and the "lake" is made of sulfuric acid and rain water. Want to go for a swim?

Yeah, and then there's the whole JOB= MONEY = GOODS&SERVICES thing that's so hard to get around, right?

Eh, I'd just carry a machete around and cut down my own food. Then I could build a small shack out of palm fronds and random odds and ends.

Speaking of Filas, there was actually a Fila in the same hotel yard as the Weimaraner!

Hopefully the Fila wasn't running loose at the hotel!
