he does have 3 patches that are "blue" this is actually fairly common in harls to have grey patches. most halrs have merle in thier lines, i belive this boys grandaddy was a "merlequin" his daddy is a harl and his mommy is a Mantle. hes the only harl, the rest of the pups were blacks and mismarked mantles.
his black patches however wont change, he should pretty much stay the markings he has now which is cool, though i do love the look of "merlequins" and other miscoloured Qins, i alwaysloved "fawnequins" "merelquins" "porcelins" (white with solid blue patches) and i even saw a "brindlequin" the other day, he was gorgeous! (white with brindled patches) but the harls are my fave...hey you never know, mabe ill go on a search to rescue one of every veriety of "quins" lol.

I am so gald breeders are allowing more types of Danes

It was not too long ago that Great Dane Breeders were getting rid of of non-standard puppies. I am glad that that practice is starting to go away otherwise we wouldn't have a lot of these great dogs with merle in them.
