There was recently an anti-tethering law passed somewhere in VA, but the language is so obtuse and confusing that pet owners are speaking out about it.
I hate that people want to blame tools and not people. Why can't we blame people?????? Dogs Deserve Better used to have pictures of perfectly healthy dogs on tethers on their website, as if they just drove around and took pictures of random people's dogs. Now they only have horrible pictures of dogs who have hanged themselves over chain link fences on their tethers and such (a lot of pit bulls, unfortunately). Yes that is an awful fate to befall a dog, but surely education on proper chain spots would go further than a law banning tethers?
