I would like a little video camera that costs under 100 dollars, takes decent quality video and is easy to put the video on the computer and is compatible with a mac (I don't know if that's relevant but I've learned it's good to say).

Everytime I look I end up finding the most super expensive one. Which is silly.

So, anyone have a recommendation for me?

I have a little Polaroid HD DVG-720... it's not expensive at all and it's really easy to transfer videos to the computer. I think it was over $100 when I bought it but you can get it cheaper now.

eta: not sure if it is compatible with MAC or not though since I don't have a mac

I have a JVC Everio that I managed to get off FB for $80. Dunno what the full price would be but I like it, it works very well and my friend who has a mac uses the same kind of camera just a different model.

I would go with one of these (yes, the older version.. I've seen both and people tend to unanimously agree the older version is both cheaper and better lol) http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-PlaySport-Waterproof-Pocket-Camera/dp/B0030MITDK/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1348536668&sr=8-9&keywords=video+camera It's like $80 and it's water proof.

For something a little fancier.. you can get a used flip for under $100.

I would go with the flip if you are thinking long term. The kodak has some battery issues from the reviews (not charging after a year or so)

It's just me but I'd rather buy it nice than buy it twice. A go pro is a little bit spendy but imo totally worth it for action shots and vids. You take so many great pics as is I think a cheap grainy video camera you'd find really frustrating.

Ok, nevermind about under 100. I was just told by the family to look for overall quality for decent price even if it's over 100.

I really like that Flip one used for 100 though Fran!

You are really probably right Kat.

Do you think those cameras are good for things OTHER than being mounted on a helmet? I want to also just be able to hold it and use it for videoing training.

They sell the "naked" just the camera one. It's basically indestructable and the quality is beautiful

Here is a dog video of a go-pro hung on a dog collar!!

I am waiting to get the go-pro.. the quality is great. It's simple. and I can't break it lol
There is also a small, cheap like $10 doodad you can get so it can go on any regular tripod.

I <3 my Kodak Zi8 - it's got more features than the comparable Flip and was cheaper too! I have a Mac laptop and it works well with it. :)

Oh yes, For a do all - do whatcha want to I've never seen another quite so fun. I've seen them mounted in crab pots, on kayaks, hand held at soccer games, or put on a car dash. They're really neat. :D

The GoPro takes really nice pictures as well? If so, I might just settle for that as my next above-average quality point and shoot.
