I have to brag, I can't hold it in any longer. Frankie has changed SO MUCH since I got him, I am astounded daily and even my mother occasionally makes a comment on how different he has become.
Anyone remember that fluffy loud mouth that was driving me up the wall? The dog who barked CONSTANTLY, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, non-stop until my head was about to explode?
Well, Frankie never barks anymore, except for when he is super excited and happy. Then he does this little dance and barks at you. Other than that, he has become the perfect, non-barking gentleman. And fully crate trained, so no more thrashing to get out of his kennel. He actually waits by the door when he knows it's time to go in his kennel, like during dinner. And never says a word when he goes in there at night to go to sleep.
Anyone remember the dog that nearly attacked me, and then leaped off the table, when I tried to groom him?? Now, Frankie is the EASIEST dog I own to groom. He's amazing. He just stands there while you do what you please to him, and even lays down for you so you can trim his belly and his paws.
Frankie also used to not be affectionate. He was very much a 'loner'. He'd do his thing, and would kinda prefer to be left alone, except for when he was nudging my mother (and not me) for attention. Now, he lovvvveeess his people. He'll nudge and mouth your hand for attention, and then leap into your lap so that he can curl up for a good nap on you. Whether YOU are comfortable or not.
Also, his hiking in the house has improved a couple billion percent. He rarely hikes anymore, whereas before, he only hiked, obsessively, about 50 times a hour. Lately, he hikes MAYBE once in a couple hours. We even allow him to be in the house with no belly band, if we are not busy and are able to supervise him close enough.
*Dreamy sigh* Where's the heart-thumping smiley when you need one??
