I was peeling shells from some hard boiled eggs and of course Ollie was watching. ! I was tempted to add some to his supper.... I know shells have been mentioned. Are they completely safe and how many for a 86# dog ?? He does have a calcium pill when I take mine !

They are harmless, but there's really no good reason to feed them, or calcium pills for that matter, if you feed a commercial dry food.

These products are so high in minerals that a dog gets much more than required on a daily basis.

The only situation where you want to balance with calcium is when you feed a home prepared diet that is either cooked and thus doesn't contain bone, or raw and doesn't include enough edible bone.
