Cat Allergic to Dog!?

Is this possible?

I was just informed by my foster pups new family that their adult cat seems to be allergic to the new puppy. She is a 4 month old Siberian Husky mix.
Anyone have suggestions on what to do about this? Can cats take allergy meds like people or is there nothing that can be done?

Yes, cats can be allergic to dogs and dogs allergic to cats. Cats and dogs can both also be allergic to people.

If they think that is the case, they ought to take the cat to a vet to get the proper meds.

I just have never heard about this before, how interesting.

I was just thinking I wonder if it could be the shampoo the pup was bathed with before she went to her new home?

Either way I will suggest a vet visit.

My old cat was allergic to us. It was odd, but it does happen.

try changing their shampoo and see if that may help? if not, the a vet visit for some meds may be necessary..good luck!
