I don't get it. There are only few reasons to rehome a dog and the ones that you hear all the time do not count.

I think you guys forgot the "My landlord...." story. If you get a dog and you rent, talk to your landlord beforehand!

Oh... and Aurora... I'd say, if you have a grudge, shut up or discuss it via pm in a manner that makes one think you might be an adult.

Yes, i thought you just got rid of a dog Borzoimom, and he might be put down by the breeder????

My favorite reason, I think, is, "But I didn't know my Newfoundland (insert other breed name here) would get so BIG" And for hounds of all types "He howls". What were they expecting, that he would meow? Read much, people?
love that quote you mention... In reality people just wants to have a dog, just because they expect the dog to just lay around like a old ripe age dog. Well that's not the reality folks, no one knows hows to read about dog/breeds/training/nutrition/behaviors expect WE have the knowledge and smarts to do so
