For those of you that have experience with both, how would you compare the two?

What other sports are out there that are similar? (Besides french ring)

I haven't seen enough in PSA to make me want to do anything in it. Maybe its just my experiences, but the people i've met haven't really impressed me all that much. Lots of "look at my bad assed dog" attitudes and very sloppy training. that may not be the norm, so take it for what its worth.

As far as something similiar, I do Schutzhund and Mondio, no titles in Mondio for my dogs, but I do decoy for it. I think the trainers and dogs are much better in those venues for the most part, although i have met a few that have played in both PSA and MOndio that are very good as well.

Sch deals with more prey drive PSA deals with more defense drive.
PSA puts allot of pressure and distractions on the dogs.
However the obedience regulations and training for SCH is unmatched by any other.

Sch tracking and more use of cross training the dogs into different areas.

I worked for a few years with a founder of SCH in this country Owen Tober and truth is he never understood why I stopped my dog from biting or creating bite inhibition in them.
Because SCH works with prey driven dogs that many do NOT have natural defense drives.

And my breeds needs CONTROl since it is natural for them to protect.
Only one female I had stayed on the sleeve and ran off the field with it.
All others spit the sleeve out and want to bad guy..
