Almost a Miracle

He was the third of three. The only one that didn't make it. Mom had a C-section and he came out with a heartbeat, but barely. The vet said if he'd been born at home, and on time, he wouldn't have made it.
He was given oxygen therapy and hung on for about a quarter hour, but he just wasn't meant for this world. He was underdeveloped and had lots of "gunk" in his lungs. He couldn't breath on his own...though he tried really hard.
He was beautiful, small and black. He weighed less than one pound. If he'd have lived we were going to keep him and name him "Miracle".

Since he didn't, and he's buried in our back yard with a large, metal cross head stone, he was...and always will be....

Almost a Miracle.

We miss you baby boy and hope you are having fun. Know that your mom and dad and brother and sister would have taken good care of you and love you very much. Your granpa Tony and granma Kim love you now and forever.
