I saw a dog at the dog park today that looked exactly like a goldendoodle, except I swear it was blue merle. With no visible white. I didn't get a chance to ask the owner about it. :(

Just so you know I get a million and one Vizsla's at my dog park (And I'm serious, they are only second to labs here) and I'll tell you, the Koolies go well with them :p They've got the LETS GO CRAZY AND RUN AROUND RIGHT NOW!! down pat
A. Vizslas are POPULAR where you are?! People are still trying to tell me she's a Lab who's too thin& I got ripped off paying so much for her!

B. That's true about the LET'S GO CRAZY AND RUN AROUND RIGHT NOW!! thing. Penn plays well with Briar ..

C. Do they snuggle? I know it seems stupid but it took me actively teaching Briar how to snuggle& he still sucks at it. I want another snuggle dog ..granted, they don't have to be AS needy as Penn. She has to constantly have me in her line of sight ahah

I'd bet aussiedoodle. They're getting kind of popular here and Aussies are exploding in popularity.

They are! No one believes me but I probably see one to three Vizslas every trip. When I don't see one it's weird.

Traveler and Didgie are both cuddlers! Didgie is a draper and Traveler curls up in the crook of my legs or against my stomach. They also like to be touching me more times than not.

That's so fun ..I'd love to have a Vizsla meeting but on my island there are 2 other Vizslas. And they are both in the double digits. It would not be as exciting as the ones I see on youtube ahah

Hearing that they are snugglers is encouraging. I absolutely ADORE Briar& he's more likely to snuggle me than his owner, but he's not naturally a want to be touching you kind of dog. I am still about 3yrs out from my next dog ..think I'll still have to fly it in from Australia?!

GSP!!! Snuggle dog is practically part of the breed standard :p

And a lovely liver or black would look lovely next to that gingery orange ;) ;)

Seriously though, gsps are crazy snuggles and smooshy. Fred is a goo ball, as are all the others I've met!!

No Beau I will not feed you at an earlier time, no matter how many times you bang your food dish against your dog house.

Stupid food hound.....

It's so hard sometimes to hold yourself together and be patient. :rofl1:

I've been having MAJOR Koolie want the past week or so. So bad. Someone please tell me they are too loud!
Circus is actually extremely quiet! She'll alert bark if she hears someone she doesn't recognize inside of the house, but other than that, she pretty much never barks. She'll make other vocalizations (like grumbling in the middle of a shaping session) but nothing too obnoxious. The first two months I had her I was living in an apartment (with a very strict "no barking" policy) and she was surprisingly angelic the whole time.

Bah. I need to get my ass in gear and start doing shaping training with this puppy. He is just so good that its making me lazy lol Maybe I should just start today ha ha
Tell me about it. LOL

I just realized the other day that Abrams only knows sit, down, and stay. But, but, but...he's just such a good puppy! (Kind of. Some times.)

Granted, I have been working with him on is stay, and he'll now hold it even when I am out of sight (which is AWESOME), but I think I need to teach him a few more things. LOL

I am going to print this and stick it to the fridge. Seriously, I am clinging to this hope :rofl1:

Traveler was quiet when he was a puppy! Sorta. At least I think he was? He really isn't a bad barker in general, he tends to do it when he gets over excited, not really demand barking but more like "Oh My God! This is FUN!"

Didgie is the demand barker....and the frustrated barker.....and the bored barker.....Didgie likes her voice. And noises I didn't know could come out of a dog not dying have come out of her mouth.

But seriously, I think if you hate barking and worked on it from the get go, stayed consistent and possibly didn't laugh and bark back at them they aren't terrible.

Maybe?

Word, Linds. Circus was really, really loud as a very young pup (maybe 11-13 weeks old?) My parents' house is really chaotic too, they have these two little Maltese dogs running around and Circus used to go NUTS chasing and shrieking after them. So I ended up spending most of my time living at my BF's apartment and she was *much* better behaved there. Neither of us worked this summer too, so at least one of us was always around to correct her if she barked inappropriately (which was usually directed at Lugia, so we'd correct her by picking her up, saying "NO" and then putting her back down after she chilled out a bit). We did this constantly for a week straight and she stopped barking almost completely after that.

All for the GSP! I'm thinking a lovely liver would match Penn quite well ;) I want my next dog to be a herder. I think I'm leaning heavily towards a Koolie. Border Collies are too predictable& I run a Border now. I want variety! In 5 years, it will be so fun to be running a Border, Vizsla& *next breed here*!

Lmao!

I am totally being overdramatic, I'm sure it'll be just fine. :) My mom has a much higher tolerance for barking than I do so I know she won't mind - Dally is not a quiet dog by any means, for example!

Darn it you guys! You are no help! :rofl1:

Seriously though, I really need to meet all of these Koolies. I really do think that would really help me set in stone whether or not I could handle one.

Basically, at this point in my life, I'm just planning to rotate the next few dogs. I'd really like to try a Koolie and an ES in addition to the cattle dogs. So we will see...
