Ok, maybe "idiot" is a bit harsh.
I've been working on Nyx's reactivity and lack of self control, and making some really nice progress with her.
Tyr, who is a mimic, has picked up on some of Nyx's bad behaviors around the house but he's always been good in public.
Until today.
This morning I took the two of them for a walk together. There was another dog heading in our general direction ~ not walking straight towards us, but getting closer to us. He was well within Nyx's typical comfort zone, and she was watching him, but she was relaxed about it. I said her name and she looked at and focused on me. I was so pleased. I was starting to praise her when Tyr looked at the other dog and let out one woof. Just one.
That was it for Nyx. Off she went in her reactive frenzy.
Thanks a bunch Tyr. No cookie for you. opcorn:
