Oh that is so cool, no pun intended. The first picture looks like like porcupine needles stuck to the plant.

Great pictures Smkie!! I especially like the first one and the third one ...nice detail of the fog ice crystals.

And ... you used the word!!!! :D

Have heard the phrase "hoar frost" before. But when spoken aloud, well ... it just sounds like something that shouldn't be discussed in polite company. :lol-sign:

(In case ya wondered ... "pogonip" is a Shoshone word for crystallized ice fog.)

THank you for telling me! I titled my photo series Pogonip because of your comment. I sent it to a friend of mine and she wrote back..is pogonip the name of the plant? I got to be alll smart sounding and said no..it's the name of the frost.:D THat and quill pig are my two new chazhound names for things.
I use to tell Mary she had hoar frost. It looked like it on her belly and legs in her old age.
