Another celeb to jump on the doggie bandwagon is pop singer Britney Spears. Following the footsteps of her idol Madonna, who owns a Chihuahua named "Chiquita," Britney introduced the world to her very own "Yo Quiero Taco Bell" named Bit Bit at the Billboard Awards.
Sugar Pie continues to accompany her famous mommy Anna Nicole Smith. "I can't leave her for longer than a day because she gets really depressed," said Anna. Sharon Osbourne can relate. She never leaves home without her Pomeranian named Minnie. Not to mention the fact that she has 10 other dogs at her Beverly Hills home.

Famous talk show host Oprah is also a well-known dog lover, who refuses to travel without her dogs and causes a commotion if the hotel refuses her pups. Although she has many dogs, her chocolate cocker spaniel Solomon is the most well known of the pack.

President Bush's Scottish terrier, Barney, can be seen alongside his master on many occasions. Will Smith on the other hand spends his time making sure his Rottweilers, Ludo & Zhaki
Gwen Stefani's musician husband Gavin Rossdale was so close to his Hungarian Sheepdog, Winston, that he insured him for up to ?3 million ($4.5 million U.S.). Gavin also named his label Mad Dog Winston Records and has a tattoo with a star and "Winston" under his left forearm. The dog, sporting a pink floral ensemble on his collar, even accompanied Gavin down the aisle on his wedding day. Unfortunately, Winston died in October. "He was 16 years and seven months old and had been such a defining force in my life amid the craziest times I've ever had, being successful and traveling," said Gavin of his passing.

Comedian Adam Sandler can certainly feel his pain having lost his beloved dog, Meatball, due to a heart attack at 4 years old. Meatball was best "man" at Sandler's wedding, and was dressed in a tux with a yarmulke on his head.

Christina Aguilera who named her dog Jackson after her idol, Michael Jackson. (Might want to rethink that one!).

Animal activist and actress, Charlize Theron, cares for cocker spaniels Denver and Delilah.

On-again, off-again couple Kirsten Dunst & Jake Gyllenhaal share custody of their dog Atticus.

The Aviator's" Leonardo DiCaprio plays papa to Rufus the poodle. How very masculine of him.

Hilary and Haley Duff saved a dog named Chiquita.

Renee Zellweger has a pooch named Dylan a.k.a. Woofer.

Tori Spelling can often be spotted with her pug Mimi.

Drew Barrymore and Matthew McConaughey both have lab/chow mixes. Drew's is called Flossie and Matt's pup is Miss Hud.

Shannon Elizabeth has five dogs with her husband Joseph Reitman.

Minnie Driver's black lab Bubba almost never leaves her side.

Where the selas blooms

I was reading an article about the problem of stray dogs in Greece and it was mentioned that after concluding the shoot for "Troy" Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom each rescued one of the strays that hung around the set and took them home.

I thought that showed a lot of class.

I think I heard Britney has 3 little dogs now, plus she has German Shepherds to guard her house. She paid $35,000 each for those GSD's. I saw it on her fabulous life.

35 grand for a dog? Thats too much money. these dogs were probablu bred to be vicious. Thats not good. I think my miniature dachshund does just as well of a job of watching the house as a GSD.

Well, I don't think it was necessarily to be vicious, the dogs were taught commands in like 3 different languages, and they knew like some crazy number of commands and were trained by some well-known SWAT guy or K-9 guy or something. I saw it like a year ago, that is why I can't remember exactly.
