I don't know if many of you know this (I am sure you all do) but Hawthorn berries are really good for dogs. We have a hawthorn tree in our backyard and Osa started to eat the berries. We were freaking out because we didn't know if they were poisonous and found out that they are actually very good for dogs. They use them as supplements for CHF (congestive heart failure) and it helps increase the blood circulation.

It is nice to know that it is something that we don't have to pick all the berries up each time they fall.

Do you have a picture of your Hawthorn? I am beside myself trying to figure out what kind of tree it is we have in our backyard. We just moved here about few months ago and the red berries are starting to drop. I have caught my boxer eating them like candy. I am not sure if mine is a Hawthorn or not. I am distraught with worry about my dogs. My camera port is broken so this is about as best I can do with the pics, I can't take new up close ones.
