I'm new to this forum and having a serious problem. I just adopted a new dog last week and he is the most mellow dog I know when I'm home. He keeps jumping my 6' block fence. Any ideas on how I can keep him in my backyard? I do have another dog and don't have any problems with him at all.

Thanks,
Randi

Ow. That's a real problem, since your other dog may decide to "follow the leader." One solution might be an underground fence about two feet inside your existing fence, or possibly an electric fence wire about eight inches above the existing fence. It's extremely difficult to just condition a dog to stop going over the wall, but the electric fence can be a real deterrent. And you can always use an outdoor kennel with a top while you are gone.

At least now you know how he probably found himself in a shelter. ;)
