Chihuahuas personality

Hi, everyone. I ahve 2 year old chihuahua, we just brought a small puppy into the house, since then the chihuahua has been very standoffish, she runs and hides in her bed and she will not come when called. Is this typical for a chihuahua, will she get over it?? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I don't personally own a chihuahua so I don't know from first hand experience, but I had a look around and I can see that chihuahuas do get scared from time to time. Funny that your chihuahua is scared of your new puppy.

Sounds maybe like this dog is scared, how socialized is your dog? what type of puppy? how did you introduce them?

Can I also ask how old this dog is? I know for old, small dogs in particular, the addition of a new and rambunctious puppy (particularly if it is a large breed) can be overwhelming.
