Safeway brand dog food
Ol' Roy
Alpo
Iams
Nutra
Go Natural!
Orijen

Bandit currently rotates between all flavors of Go Natural! and Orijen.
I just have to applaud your doing a complete 180 for the better of your dogs' nutrition! Now if only I could convince my dad to do the same...

You can thank everyone here for that when I signed up once upon a time ago. He's a happy camper now and so am I. I prove six vacume cleaners due to the amount of hair he was blowing out all the time. EEK

For Gavroche it's been :

science diet (beofre I took him home and until the bag was finished) --> nutro ---> purina ONE ---> raw (I can't keep up with meals for myself, let alone for the dog too) ---> Authority Harvest Baked (I can't find this anymore) ---> purina ONE ---> Hills T/D ---> Taste of the Wild. He's now on Authority and T/D until the bags are finished because it was getting old and I ran out of Taste of the Wild and I'm short on cash at the moment. He'll get his good food back probably next week or the week after.

Oh I've also done raw for a while too. Trey was fed raw for his last year really, and Beau was on it a long time too. I still can't get summer to touch raw though lol. Mia gets raw supplements now a few times a week.

Mine have been eating Innova for a long time now, 6 or 7 years. Regular Innova, then Evo when it first came out, then RM when it came out. In that time I've given them some raw, and also tried homed cooked for a while, but came back to Evo RM.

Before that, with Kassie, I first started her and Eukanuba, that's what she was feed with her breeder, then Chicken Soup, for just a little while then Innova.

Savannah has been through LOTS of different brands in her four years, but the ones I can remember are:

Pro Plan
Purina ONE
Maxximum Nutrition
Nutro
California Natural
Taste of the Wild
Diamond Naturals
Raw
EVO

Right now she is eating a combination of Diamond Naturals and raw. I can't find EVO locally any more since the store that carried it has moved.

Isabelle has been on Wellness but I'm transitioning her to 100% raw.

Pedigree (thankfully only for a week after I got him)
Nutro Natural ( about a month on that)

Then after a recall, I began to read labels and it went something like this:
Merrick
Pinnacle
Wellness
Wellness Core
Innova Evo
Orijen
Acana Provincial
Horizon Legacy

My four yr old Papillon Cujo:

Nutro: @ around 5 months
Eukanuba
Biljac
Purina Pro Plan
**I stuck with Nutro mainly then.

Then... I began researching dog foods after the recalls. 07 I think?
Canadae (The very first great dog food we ever tried! :) )
Timber Wolf
Merrick
Solid Gold
Natures Variety (too grainy)
Merrick Before Grain
Taste Of The Wild
Innova EVO Red Meat Small Bites (still on this one, Cujo's fave kibble)

River, my 12 month old show pap:

Eukanuba Puppy and Iams Canned (@ breeder)
Merrick
Solid Gold
Natures Variety
Merrick Before Grain
TOTW
Innova EVO Red Meat Small Bites (still on, and is River's fave.)
**I do feed her canned more often now. I try to be careful though, and not get anything to rich for her. Innova, Canadae, Pro Plan Naturals (I cant remember the exact name. lol), and Iams puppy.

I tried the 90% meat cans by EVO and Wellness, didn't have good results. Things like Wellness, Merrick and other chunky style canned food is not good for my paps. They do best on the plain ground type.

My paps mainly get EVO Red Meat, Solid Gold, and TOTW kibble. Oh, and I do feed RAW sometimes.. Ground beef mostly, and turkey necks once and never again. Lol

Wow, I doubt I could remember all the foods I've seen come and go........I mean from growing up with dogs until now, but I'll list the ones I do remember! LOL

Family dogs (mom in charge of buying)

Chuck Wagon and table scraps YouTube - 1970 Chuck Wagon Dog Food Commercial

Purina Chow and table scraps (in some form or another-puppy chow, dog chow)

My dogs

Purina Chow
Iams
Chicken Soup for Dogs
Blue Buffalo (varying flavors)
Solid Gold (lamb and rice I believe)
Innova EVO RM (mixed it in with Canidae)
Canidae
Home Cooked (cooked 100% during the dog food crisis)
1/2 Canidae + 1/2 Home Cooked (then Canidae changed formula without notice)
1/2 Diamond Naturals + 1/2 Home Cooked

We've tried a lot over the past 4+ years...

Eukanuba
Nutro Natural Choice
Innova
Wellness
Timberwolf Organics
Orijen
Wellness Core
Acana
Nature's Variety Instinct

Right now we're back and forth between raw and Instinct... we want to get back to a 100% raw diet.

Back before I knew better out dogs ate Pro Plan, Eukanuba, presidents choice dog food.

Since I got into breeding:

Innova
Evo
Evo RM
Wellness
Go Natural
Natural Instinct
Orijen
Raw.

Mainly raw over that period of time. Orijen seemed to be the food (next to raw) that all dogs did well on. (a concern when you can have up to 13 dogs at a time) Wellness was the worst, only a few dogs did well on it. So far I haven't had a dog who did poorly on raw. (I switch over all fosters when they come in)

Eukanuba
Purina One
Pro Plan
Solid Gold (for everyone except Ares)
Natural Balance duck and potato (for Ares)
Wellness (except Ares)
Canidae (except Ares)
Homemade raw for everyone
Natural Balance chicken (except Ares)
I/D for Morgan and Piper (Morgan after she almost died of pancreatitis and Piper for EPI-like symptoms)
Pinnacle trout and potato (for Ares)
Z/D (for Ares - because I couldn't find anything else he could tolerate)
Back to Canidae (except Ares, Morgan, Piper)
Chicken Soup puppy (for Tyr)
Prairie Chicken and Rice (for Ares)
Prairie Chicken and Rice (for Tyr)
Prairie Chicken and Rice (for Morgan)
Prairie Chicken and Rice (for Nyx)
Instinct Rabbit (for Ares) until it was no longer available - then back to prairie - then back to instinct when it was available again, didn't like it the second time, so back to prairie.
TOTW Pacific Stream, which is what they're on now and I'm going to be changing it soon.

We're now trying Orijen since it's available here. Beau's had the runs though already but we'll see if he clears up. If not back to TOTW.

My last dog got a mixture of IAMS and Kibbles n' Bits.

Yup.

Thanks to research before getting Finnegan, he was on California Natural Lamb Meal and Rice puppy formula until 8 months, and has been on TOTW Pacific Stream -> Wetlands since then. Due to cost and import issues with TOTW, he'll be switching to Orijen Adult after this bag. I don't expect any switching issues since he hasn't had any problems before, but we'll see what happens!

He came from the breeder on Master Care and then it went:
Acana “Wild Prairie”
Acana “Pacifica”
Taste of the Wild “Pacific Stream”
Taste of the Wild “Wetlands”

Next (and hopefully last) Orijen – Regional Red!

Capone was on Canidae from the time he got home until I noticed his coat seemed lackluster.... looked it up, and they'd changed the formula. Ugh.

He's on a raw now and if I put him back on a kibble, I'll probably start with Origin - the cost makes me cringe a bit, but totally worth it if he tolerates it well and enjoys it.

Cassius was eating some variety of Science Diet at the pet store, then my sister had him on Nutro, and now he's eating raw - and loving it! [also: snow, certain table scraps, tree bark, cat toys, cat tails, limes, banana peels, cinderblocks (well, attempted cinderblocks) and whatever else wanders too close to his mouth.]
