I have to wash mine really well with hot water. I don't use soap but I can't just let all that grease from meat and stuff sit there. I don't want that transferred to my other food. I actually hate washing the cast iron skillet the most cause it's heavy and cumbersome and I can just stick my other pots in the dishwasher.
I usually wipe them all clean, then toss some water in the pan and let it simmer for a bit before dumping them out again and wiping them down with a little oil. It seems to keep them really shiny and nice, and doesn't let any food odors/flavors creep into other dishes.

I don't really eat a lot of cooked food. My microwave just sits on the counter looking pretty.
