What is the best age to spay?

When is it best to spay a female dog? I understand if you spay at the wrong age they will be incontinent at an older age. I come across this a lot with female dog clients. I am just curious...what is the best time to spay?

its up to the owner, there are pros and cons or both spaying before a first heat and spaying after, i would recomend that you spay before her first heat which will depend on the breed/size, spaying before will make sure you have no unwanted litters, and you dont have to added hastle of keeping her safe
