After doing vehicle searches outside, we switched to thresholds. Yeah, ok- nothing amazing there. Then we did container/box searches with just odor. Here's the amazing part- Caleb is just starting to work with odor, so we pair treats with the odor. We also, as of now, only have odor at class. At home we just use food for the hides. Tonight's box search was odor only. Once Caleb realized we were searching the boxes and not the entire room, it took him all of about a minute to find the CLOSED box that had the odor in it. There was no doubt when he found it, either- he stuck his nose through the flaps and right into the box.

Yay, Caleb!

I wish we had a Nosework class within driving distance. It sounds like a lot of fun!

...We're starting nosework this week... I'm so excited!
You're going to have a blast. Caleb absolutely loves Nosework. He actually gives a little chirp just before I tell him, "Find it". Cracks the instructor up. The hardest part for me is reading Caleb, but I'm sure is "signals" will become more apparent as we go on.
