I don't know if other countries do this but here in France we name our dogs with a "year letter" for example 2005 is the letter A, so we all chose a name beginning with A for dogs born in 2005, 2006 B Names beginning with B and so on, so we know instantly how old a dog is by it's name! I think it's a good idea personally!
What does everyone else think?!! :)

I'm confused??? What if a dog was born in 1996 or 2000 or some other year besides 2004 or 2005? What letter would their name begin with??

Well if your dog was born in 1996 the letter would be the letter S and 2000 would be V. If 2005 is the start of a new cycle (A), you count back 5 years to 2000, 5 years = 5 letters in the alphabet! So the letter A will appear every 26 years!
Is this less confusing? Coz i'm now really confused!

Well, I guess it's a good idea if there's any reason for everyone else to know how old your dog is. I don't think I'd go along with it very well, though, since I like to give my dogs the names that suit them.

Hey Gustav,
I get it now! I don't think I would really like that. I give my animals names that fit them. My little sister helped name Oreo. LOL Anyway, what happens if you don't want to go along with that plan??
