It's still a bit odd to me that most people seem to celebrate on Christmas day here. When I was a kid, we had the big meal on Christmas' Eve (and opened presents then once we were older), and Christmas was mostly a relaxing day with a lighter meal.

Anyway, Monday night we're going to one of hubby's friends who always has their house open to guests on Christmas Eve. Tuesday we were supposed to just spend the afternoon with his brother's family in Philly but the house they rented has stairs, so MIL can't go there, so we're doing the restaurant first here at 2pm, then dropping MIL off, then driving over there for the evening and having a light Christmas meal. I'm not too excited about it, it's a long drive to just spend 2 hours there (guessing the kids will be really bored after that), and BIL will have to spend 3 hours in the train for a 1.5 hour restaurant meal. Can't really do it here either because it's not really safe for MIL with the dog, the stairs, and toys all over (especially on Christmas). And SIL really wanted us to go there for dinner. So we're going.

Looking forward to the kids opening their presents but it kinda stinks they'll only have a few hours to enjoy them before we have to go for the rest of the day.

This will be my first Christmas away from family, so I've gone a bit overboard :D

We will wake up, open presents, then I'm cooking a HUGE amount of food for just us two... Roast pork, roast lamb and a gammon joint (which will be cooked tomorrow and eaten cold). We will spend the rest of the day feeling bloated, watching Christmas tv and nibbling on more food I imagine.

Boxing Day ill drive to my parents (with Fred. Bodhi and other half will stay here. Fred needs the socialisation) and stay a night or two, catch up with family and friends and give them my pressies.

And generally just chill and eat till I'm back in work on the 2nd :D

Christmas Eve my friends and I are getting together to do a "sister Christmas" and we are going to exchange presents between the three of us. Then on Christmas we'll get up and have homemade cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate and open presents. We're having prime rib (or possibly fillet mignon), homemade Mac and cheese (BEST EVER), fresh rolls, green bean casserole, and homemade pie of some sort. We'll then either play with our presents or take a nap, and then have leftovers from lunch for dinner! I can't wait, if you can't tell!! :D

We are going to the movies today, and eating.

Tomorrow we are going to have the family gathering, play a present swap game, and eat.

Christmas day we will open gifts among our immediate family, and eat.

My family, we like to eat :)

Praying there is no bloodshed between my family members :p

Otherwise: It's just my parents, older single aunt, brother, and me. We'll finishing shopping, wrapping, decorating, etc. today...Christmas Eve we do traditions like driving around to look at lights, finger foods, all exchange pajamas, read Christmas stories, and laugh at Milo trying to sneak under the tree to grab his gifts.

Christmas day we do fancy breakfast stuff (chocolate croissants, sometimes bacon and french toast/pancakes, etc) and open presents til about 1pm (my parents buy WAYYYY too much stuff for everyone). Then if we get any gifts like board games or fun video games or art supplies we play with those. I LOVEEEE the way my family does Christmas - I do like it better when other people come, usually some Jewish friends or friends with no family in the area come by for dinner, and this is my first Christmas since my fiancee and I split up, two of my close friends moved away, etc...but I feel pretty good so far and next year I'll get to introduce my 7 month old to Christmas, so :)

Christmas eve we always go to a candlelight church service in the evening with my parents. We may or may not go to dinner after that, depends on how late it is.

On Christmas day we're heading over to my parents around noon to open presents, then eat our Christmas dinner-ham and all the fixin's.

Since Roy and I are still sort of newlyweds with no kids we spend most holidays with my parents, who live close by. His extended family is huge and wide-spread, so we don't do gift exchanges with them unless someone happens to be in town. We do call everyone on Christmas morning in both our families and talk to them. Takes us a few hours but we get it done :)

We ALWAYS do Christmas Eve... I don't know why we do it that way but we do. When we were kids, it went like this-
Go to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Instead of traditional dinner, we would eat sandwich meats and snacky things, because it was faster to prepare for Grandma, faster to eat, and faster to clean up after - and faster for us kids to get to the presents!!
At some point during dinner or afterward, my dad would sneak out and go down to our house to put out the presents and fill the stockings so it looked like Santa had come. (We only live a block and a half away from my grandparent's house.) When we got home we would open the presents from our parents and the Santa gifts.
Christmas Day we played with our new gifts and then went to my grandma's house for a full on proper dinner that night. Sometimes we went to my aunt's house (my mom's sister) in the morning, other times we went to her house the weekend before or after to do Christmas with her.

After we got older, we still obviously do Christmas Eve at my grandma's house, then come home and open the family gifts. Then Christmas morning we do stockings (or sometimes depending if it's like 1 or 2AM we do them after opening the presents, haha. IT'S TECHNICALLY CHRISTMAS MORNING.)

And unfortunately these days my Grandma has decided to do away with the sammiches Christmas Eve and do full-blown dinner, so we have to eat the BIG dinner and then wash dishes for an eternity before we can do presents, which is agony for me because I think I give killer gifts and want to see people open them RIGHT NOW. >=| We go back Christmas Day and we eat the leftovers.
My aunt died when I was in high school so we obviously haven't been doing that for many years.

We're going out for dinner with mu grandma on Christmas Eve (after I'm done work). Then Christmas Day we wake up and eat waffles and open presents and then hit the movies (this year we are seeing This Is 40) and then scope out Boxing Day sales. Then we usually go out on Boxing Day at a terrible time of the morning to score some electronics.

This year is going to be slightly different. As neither Steven nor I have to work on Christmas eve. So a normal dinner Christmas eve. Christmas morning we will get up open the presents and stocking here, eat breakfast. Get ready and make the trek to Lansing to my parents house, open presents there. We will have to take the oldests presents down there as that is where he is working and going to school now (my first Christmas morning with out both of my kids :(). After we are done opening presents at my parents house, its time to head over to my Grandmas and eat tons of snacky foods and visit, then eat a big dinner. After clean up and all that, we will open presents there. Then sit around for a bit visiting we will head back to my parents house. We usually get home very late on Christmas day.

Traditionally we celebrate with my family on Christmas Eve. But this year, my nephew has a new job and he can't take tomorrow off so we're celebrating with my family later today. In-laws live out of town so we fly out to see them every couple of years.

Not sure what I'm going to do Monday and Tuesday, haven't really decided yet.

We're going to our youngest son & his girlfriend's in Virginia. My husband is still working on the house (doing stuff while the walls are opened that isn't covered by insurance). We're leaving here about 2 tomorrow morning. He has to work Wednesday, so we'll have Christmas dinner on Monday and head home sometime Christmas Day.

Today we're going to my dad's extended family and celebrating Christmas there. Christmas Eve (or early Christmas morning, haven't decided which) I'm going to make Mike unwrap the presents I got him and let the munchkins unwrap their gifts as well. Christmas morning around 10:00 or so, Mike and I are heading out to my family's house and we're doing stockings, presents, and brunch. Then later that evening we're going to my mom's extended family and celebrating Christmas there.

Mike's family isn't big into celebrating, so we aren't doing anything with them. Although I think his dad will be coming up later in the week for us to have dinner together.

My parents are gone, brother and I don't speak, extended family drifted away. Hubby lost his Dad back in 1999 so after his Mom passed a couple years ago we decided to change up the traditions. We (Hubby & I, + our 2 kids. They're 18 and 24, but still at home) have our big meal Christmas Eve, then volunteer at the rescue Christmas Day. When we're home we just hang out together (Santa always brings a family activity/game. Lame but fun) eating leftovers, Pizza for supper.

Dina (the friend I critter-sit for) tells me I'm spending Christmas day with them, and her mother tells me I'm spending their second one on the 28th there. :)

And I'm sure there will be plenty of :spam: to clean up here.

SO and I are both spending christmas eve with our families. We usually hang out during the day, go for a walk, maybe this year walk a dog from the animal rescue. Have a nice christmas eve dinner (this year truffle pasta) and open presents. Then we usually play a game of some sort. :)

On the first christmas holiday (christmas day for you), SO is coming here and we are all going to my grandma's (dad's side) having a big christmas lunch there (2 geese, stuffing, soup ect. ect.) open presents and then play games. Usually head home are 6.

On the second christmas holiday (we have a day more off ;) ) (we are all stuffed) we head to my other grandma's for christmas dinner, open presents there and so on. ^^

THEN on the 27th we are heading over to SO's parents, more food.

28th is a "I will never ever eat again" day.

Woah, I thought I was the only one going to the movies on Christmas. My family gave me crap about missing out on 2-3 hours of family time on Christmas LOL What's everyone going to see? I'm watching Les Mis with a friend and really looking forward to it.

Other than that, it'll just be opening presents, taking pictures of Trent opening his presents, and a big family dinner. We tend to do most of our celebrating on Christmas Eve - most of the time we actually open presents then, too.

Tomorrow I'm working and then I'll probably go home and groom the dogs haha. Not exciting at all. Christmas Eve is usually uneventful anyway, although normally we go to my Aunt's for a get together. But she decided not to do that this year. Then on Christmas day we'll open gifts and then a couple of people are coming over, but we're having our actual Christmas on Boxing Day/the 26th this year because of a conflict with my uncle's girlfriend's family. Normally we have our dinner and whatnot on Christmas Day.

Not a whole lot. Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast Christmas morning, waiting for my brother and father to get home from work in the morning, then opening presents and lounging for the rest of the day. Might go see a movie.
