Same rule applies with milbemycin. Safe in heartworm prevention dose, a potential problem in sensitive dogs at a higher dose.
Yup, it's just not used as frequently for other things at those higher doses. I think that's why ivermectin got such a bad reputation even though the heartworm preventatives are safe.

Awesome, thanks for the tips on the HW and general collie info. I am really leaning towards her [a lot will depend how meeting goes]. My chow was SUPER easy to house train, 8 weeks old and 2 days, he had it. They are natural pros, and from what I'm reading Collies aren't too far behind and it gives me hope she will catch on despite her rough start. The shelter director says she keeps her kennel clean during day but has accidents during the night. I think a lot of that is being in a kennel situation though, and I'm thinking a crate will help her get it the rest of the way.

I'll keep you all posted if I end up getting her. :)
