Ball vs Tug

Schuzhund people (or any other bite sports), what's your opinion? Ball, or tug?

Which do you use? Do you use just one, or both? What's your favorite brand/size of tug or ball?

I prefer the ball. Easier for me to hide/control for obedience stuff. My male prefers the tug because he's a pain in my butt. My favorite thing ever right now is my Gappay dice ball. Fits perfectly in my armpit and Carm goes nuts for it.

I like both. If I'm rewarding "on myself" i'm usually using some sort of tug. I like these from leerburg one or two handled. But have a variety of other pillows and stuff too I use.

the balls are too dangerous for myself up close if they miss, they stop at nothing to get it and I don't feel like losing an appendage. Tugs are easier to target and don't swing around as wildly from a missed target like a ball.

My dog generally seems to prefer the ball, the problem I have been having is he targets the string/rope vs the ball itself. And when tugging with it, he seems to have a hard time keeping a hold on it. Perhaps I need to find a smaller ball. I really like the look of that "dice" ball!
I like leather tugs for tugging better than the ball, but I have yet to find one that he REALLY likes.
