I finally made it to a flyball practice with the Wee Beanerkins. Usually puppy class interferes, but today they moved it to the afternoon.
He rocked it.
Uh huh.
We did restrained recalls with a couple different people holding him. He came right to his tug and tugged like crazy the whole way back to his holder, growling and completely engaged.
He completely ignored the dog barking his head off at him!
We did some dead ball retrieves (sends to a ball that is placed out on the floor and not moving vs a ball that is thrown) and he came right back to his tug. He's definitely a left-turner.
I was thrilled with his focus and his interest in the game in a new place, with new people, with new dogs around!
I still don't think he'll be as fast or as intense as Steve, but maybe he'll prove me wrong. He's going to be a crackerjack flyball dog. No doubt about it.
