Is it a bad idea to get a dog without seeing him first?

I know it's very difficult, but I think your vet's right on that one. I know it will all work out in the end and soon you will find your perfect dog!
Thank you :) I know that's right, it's just so hard when I want a dog right this second. But I know it'll eventually work out.

I'm dog crazy right now. Every dog I see outside I want to pet like crazy. I didn't realize I was SUCH a dog person until I didn't have a dog :(

I adopted Fozzie based on two HORRIBLE, fuzzy pictures and a bunch of e-mailing and phone calls to and from the foster parents and the rescue. And we drove 4 1/2 hours to get there.

=D But everything turned out perfect. Trust your instincts, and drill the foster/rescue, and expect to be drilled.

I've never done it but I see no issue with it. Dogs change from meeting them at the shelter compared to when they come home. Some real freak shows turn out to be placid lap pets and the calm ones can turn into real zoomie bums. Go with your instinct.
