Lucy plays "farm dog" for the weekend

My good friend's cousin owns 250 acres just outside Charlottesville, VA. We had a three day weekend, they were heading to Florida, we volunteered to house sit. Hence, Lucy got to experience farm doggy life!

We met (and scared away multiple times) the resident peacock!

What is it about sandy beaches that gets dogs crazy levels going? Lucy and the resident house dog TORE around the beach. It's a miracle they didn't fall in the river.

We need to get the homeowners into agility...apparently this used to be the site of a polo field, but I think it would be a fabulous agility ring!

Half the property was wooded, and there are sometimes deer hunters so the puppies all got their orange doggy scout bandanas for visibility. Good thing too, Lucy liked to go off course.

My prey drive crazy dog found the goats Sunday night, and would not leave them alone after that. She managed to squeeze through the fence into their pen and was chasing and herding them. She lost off leash privileges after that one...

My friend's old man dog, Joey. He kept up with all of us all weekend, despite being 12 or 13 and having shrimpy little legs. Such a good boy!

The end! Now I feel like a crummy dog owner because my dog is stuck in a suburban tract home...
