You can disagree with someone without trying to completely invalidate them. Really. If the only way you can disagree with somebody is to try and completely invalidate them, that only tells me that you chronically feel small. And that you're kind of a dick.

If it makes you feel better, I like your signature.
I kept saying it to people. I just can't help myself.

I did the same thing this morning. Skipped the shower, threw on a hat and ran out the door. Just barely made it on time and nearly got pulled over in the process.
No. It does not make me feel better that we had identical crap mornings. I also almost got pulled over - clocked at 60 in a who-knows-how-fast zone and the cop rolled forward but didn't follow me.

I was on time though. Technically. 8:57 isn't counted ad "on time" here, though.

Just feeling bleh.

I hate feeling bleh. I'd rather feeling some other kind of intense emotion than this horrible...emptiness. Bleh.

Then you fill out the form to see if you can avoid the penalty. I'm guessing you don't make enough to qualify for subsidies/tax credits and your state didn't expand medicaid.

https://www.healthcare.gov/exemptions/

Read all the exemptions, and if one applies, scroll down and select the right form. I can't think of anyone who really can't afford it and hasn't had at least one of those situations. I know you likely qualify because of this:

So you apply for that and pay no extra taxes and no insurance premiums. You still don't get coverage, but you don't have to pay anything, either.
I don like how they are penalizing people for not getting healthcare, I am sorry but I don't agree with this. Healthcare should be a choice and I don't believe people should be punished for choosing NOT to buy a plan, isn't that what a "free" country is about? The right to choose without having something forced on you?

Free is relative...living in a society there are plenty of things we have no choice but to do or be penalized. I am fine with health care being one of them, especially when people without healthcare are "penalizing" others.

If you want to decline health CARE, by all means do so. Don't go to the doctor. Ever. Your choice.

But if what you really mean is that you choose not to have health INSURANCE but want care anyway, then... unless you are paying fees for services then other people are paying for your care. Depending on my mood, I might describe that as either stealing but more likely as socialism which seems to be a dirty word in this country so not sure why it would be ok in this instance.

We live with ALL sorts of things "forced" on us because we live in a society and need some lubricant in some areas.

This. It's not so much a penalty, as it is offsetting the costs of someone NOT getting insurance. Very few people who choose not to get insurance can actually afford to pay their medical bills, especially if it's something like hospitalization.

*Cries* Here I am about to go to bed, and realize I forgot to turn my heated mattress pad on. Now my sheets are cold.

We don't have electricty in part of our apartment. The part the doesn't have electricity includes the boiler, so we have cold water. Freezing water actually.
