LOl yes I saw that movie its AWESOME lol.
I think Walker will be the same way i mean when madison (godsisters, daughter) is here he wont leave her alone for a minute unless shes asleep and then he sleeps next to her pack and play. I mean I dont even have two seconds to get my butt off the bed before he is nudging me and trying to hurry me up LOL. Hes the essential nanny dog. I just dont know hwo he would do with a baby screaming 24/7
LOL... for the first little while and still even now to some extent... Beezer HAD to be in the nursery if I was in there with Hannah. Whenever she would cry he would look at her and than look at me and than back at her... like he was saying "Why is she crying? Isn't your job to keep her from crying?" lol
To be honest, I really wasn't sure how Beezer would react to Hannah when we first brought her home. Or Belle for that matter. Beezer was always super crazy and bouncing all over the place all the time. Since we brought Hannah home he has mellowed right out... he's still playful but he's much more mindful about where he gets bouncy. Even the first time I had Hannah on the bed with me he jumped up on the bed and I put my arm up to make sure he didn't step on her... but he just knew and he just curled around her and laid his head beside her head.
for the most part (of course not all dogs) I think your dogs just know when you bring home your baby how they need to behave. It seems that they just realize that this little thing is delicate and cannot be treated like a big person. I was infinitely impressed with Beezer and Belle when we brought Hannah home. I had never seen them around a very small baby before so I really had no idea. but for first introductions I left Hannah in the carseat and held the car seat and let them come up and sniff her... they were very nervous at first. Belle even went as far as to sit back and her lip started to quiver... but she wasn't growling... her teeth were almost chattering lol... she was very nervous. But they warmed up very quickly .
My only advice is to try not to change Walkers routine too much. I wouldn't forbid him from sleeping in the room for the first little while. There will already be such a big change having a new little person in the house... you don't want to pile onto that by changing his whole routine... that will just really send him for a loop and he won't know what to think. Try ato act as normal as possible and he will be comfortable with the whole situation much faster IMO.
Does he have a special place he likes to sleep now since you don't have a crate up? Perhaps just keep that area open for him and as the baby gets older and mobile teach her to leave that area alone if possible.
