Surprised at those who did not name the breeds they actually HAVE ...lol. My Golden and Westie are most definitely on my list!! Too hard to pick only ONE fav from each group!! Tried picking in preference order though.

Sporting: Golden Retriever. (real shocker there <g>) One of my favorite groups so also like Labs, Setters, and Tollers. But don't ever want to be without at least one Golden.

Hound: Greyhound, love their combo of laid-back inside and full-speed-ahead outside. Not much of a hound person otherwise.

Herding: Rough Collie, Shetland Sheepdog, Border Collie.

Toy: Papillon by far!! Papillon is the one dog on my definite "gotta haz" list that I have yet to own!! Also very partial to Maltese, and somewhat less partial to Shih Tzus.

Terrier: Westie!! Also love Miniature Schnauzers and Cairns. But Westie is my fav. Like the hounds, not much of a bully breed terrier person. I just prefer shaggy terriers with lots of fuzz!!

Non-Sporting: American Eskimo, sweet, beautiful and they come in any size you want!!

Working: Another fav group! German Shepherd, Great Dane, Samoyed, Portuguese Water Dog, Rottweiller

I didn't want to insert my breed so I'm just answering AKC-wise.

Sporting: Truthfully I wouldn't want to own any. I'll just say English Setter since I grew up with them and they're nice enough.

Hound:GREYHOUND!!!!!!!! Obviously ;)

Herding: Malinois. I'm not a super huge herding fan (I don't like it when my dogs are smarter than me), but I've met some Mals with a bulldog attitude which has me sold ;)

Toy: tied between a Chinese Crested and a Papillon.

Terrier: Tied between an Airedale and a Border (I know I know, I didn't pick the AmStaff or the StaffyBull . . .surprising eh?)

Non-Sporting: Shiba Inu.

Working: German Pinscher

Misc: Xolo, hands down. Those dogs are COOL!

Sporting: Chesapeak Bay Retreiver. I would never own a sporting dog. But I sure love the Cessies. They are such a strong sweet breed.

Hound: Hands down and Irish Wolf Hound. One day I am hoping to own one of these massive dogs. I just love them.

Herding: 100% the Bouvier De Flanders. I will for sure be owning another one of these hopefully sooner than later! I also love the smooth Coated Collie and smooth coated Border Collie, but probley will never own one.

Toy: Papillion For sure. If I ever decided to get a smaller dog this is what I would get. They are on my wants list.

Terrier: Thats a no brainer. It would be a WestHighland White Terrier. The Westie is my Heart breed and I will forever always have one.

Non-Sporting: Poodle. I love them. And they come in three sizes. But I would be going with the Standard Chocolate.

Working: This is a hard one. But I am going to say the Rottweiler. But I do have a couple favorites. The Akita, Saint Bernard, Doberman Pincher and the Great Dane.

Herding: The right Border Collie or a Malinois

Toy: Toy Fox Terrier

Terrier: APBT, Patterdale Terriers

Oh, fun! :D

Sporting: So many! I really like Am Cockers, Eng Cockers, Clumber Spaniels, and English Setters.

Terrier: Not to keen on the terrier group. Lol. Probaby the Sealyham.

Toy: Well, duh. ;) Papillons of course! Not really into any of the other toys except Cavaliers.

Nonsporting: Boston Terrier and St Poodle

Herding: Hmm. a hard one, not really a fan of the group. Ausie?

Working: Anatolian or Newf

Hound: PBGV's are so cute. :p I like Whippets (both smooth and long haired).

AKC Misc: Boykin

AKC FSS: Kooikerhondje

In all honesty I will probably only ever own dogs out of the Sporting and Toy groups. Though LH Whippets, Bostons and St Poodles are looking mighty nice. :p

I tried REALLY hard to limit myself to one in each group but it's not an easy task!!

Sporting: Clumber Spaniel, English Setter

Hound: Miniature Longhaired Dachshund, Saluki, Rhodesian Ridgeback

Toy: Papillion

Working: Newfoundland. I love this group and want to name almost every breed in it, but Newfies have my heart.

Terrier: Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Herding: Australian Shepherd

Non-sporting: Standard Poodle

It is crazy to me how many people want a wirehaired pointing griffon! Anybody want to take Charlie off my hands? :p

Limiting myself to AKC here. It's still hard.

Sporting: None!!! ha hah aha! If I had to take one, it would be the spinone.

Hound: All of them! Well, all sight hounds anyway, especially good borzois. Of the AKC scent hounds I like coonhounds.

Working: Akita, Tibetan mastiff, or siberian husky

Terrier None!!! Given no choice, maybe a mini bull terrier or a staffie.

Toy: Long haired chihuahua or a hairy hairless Chinese crested

Herding: Blue merle smooth collie, or canaan dog

Non Sporting: Shar pei or shiba inu

Miscellaneous: More coonhounds!
