Frog Position?

What's with the frog position?

I read somewhere on the forum about it and knowing if your dog has hip problems. I'm asking because my pointer/golden mix does it when he is relaxed or sleeping, but I have yet to see my husky does that.

Is it breed specific? Can I tell if my dog has hip problems from that?

It's when they lie on their stomach spread eagle. Not all dogs do this...but I always liked it when my pups did as it showed good hip rotation.

Hunter's an adult and does this (his Frog Butt). He's very flexible. Some dogs are just more flexible than others. Some grow out of being able to do it. So dogs can't do it because of hip dysplasia.

Both Lucas and Chloe sleep like that all the time. I wouldn't be too worried if your dog doesn't, they just might find it less comfortable.
