hair loss on kitty kitty :(

Hey guys, any ideas here would be mucho appreciated.

My little Buddy bear seems to have some random hair loss. On his chin, along both sides of his jawbone. It's just gone! No issues with the skin there whatsoever, just no hair. It's not symmetrical on either side either, it's kinda patchy.

He's got THICK fur normally, so it's just wierd.

Does it look like anything?

The first thing that pops into my mind when I hear hair loss is ringworm?

no ideas.. but ohnoes! Poor kitty (and poor you.. first Sierra now Buddy)

That happened to Morrigan when I first got her - and entire PATCH of hair on her orange cheek was gone. Whiskers intact, no hair. It has grown back over the last three weeks, but you can see what I'm talking about if you look at the first, second, and third set of pictures I have of the kittens. It was completely hairless - I was afraid it was ringworm but it didn't look like ringworm, really. And now a lot has grown back and it's almost normal. Maybe give it two weeks to wait for it to regrow before you really panic?

I thought ringworm first, but it doesn't look like it (I've had ringworm - so I'm comparing to that... is it different in animals? Gross stuff)

There isn't any redness or irritation at all, it's just bald

Do you have a blacklight? I'd test for it just to be sure. Can you snap a photo of it?

Vanilla it sounds EXACTLY like Morrigan's. Odd.... I'd definitely try a blacklight.

That's odd that Morrigan had no hair but still had whiskers!!

I'm going to see about a blacklight... I don't have one but I'll ask around to see if anyone has one I can borrow.
