A large bony callus has formed as part of the bone reconstruction process. As the femur remodels, the excess callus will be absorbed.
Mobility is looking good so it seems all our stretching and hotpacking since the rehab consult two weeks ago has paid off -- we've regained that extra 10 degrees of extension
We are cleared for two gentle ten minutes walks a day, working gradually up to thirty minutes at a time by the end of week eight. She can also walk up and down the stairs once a day this week, slowing building that as well. Emphasis on the *WALK*! By the end of week ten she can start with trotting and controlled running and not long after that should be good to embrace life in Flatcoat style once again
