Okay so... not gonna win any dock diving contests yet but Ada is really taking to fetch in the water.

Now the problem is if you throw it...

She will go to the edge and get ready to jump then change her mind, then do it again and again and just never actually JUMP.

She wants to stand on the top step then jump... which is not very graceful.

Have you tried getting in with her, have her standing on the edge, and get her REALLY excited about the ball *right* in front of her? Like, "omgadatheballgettheballadacomeongetitgetitgetit!!!!" excited? She probably just needs to take that one leap and see that the world doesn't end when she jumps.

Too cute! Ada is such a character!

I wish we had a swim-worthy pool for Morgan to try out. I think he would have a lot of fun swimming, but now that he's almost four and there are no real opportunities for dog swimming in our area... I'm afraid he's just going to wimp out if we ever do get a chance to try him in the water.

Oh no... papillons are half cat. They melt in the water. I've been told this time and time again as I've tried to get Mia to like swimming. Nope. Not gonna work. She will wade to about chest high but that's it. Papillons seriously tend to have catlike aversion to water. They loathe it.

So needless to say I'm enjoying having a dog that swims.
