Diatomaceous earth

Does it work and is it safe? Advantage and Frontline are not working.

I've not used it *on* pets, but it does a good job on the roaches and ants when used around our foundation.

It does work. I personally haven't used it on dogs' skin, but a friend used it on her collie puppies when a fleas invaded and they were too little for anything else. She said it worked wonderfully, she was just really careful not to let them breathe any.

I've never used it, but heard good things for flea killing. The risks are inhalation, it's basically little pieces of sharp glass like stuff, so not nice to the lungs. So be very careful when applying. I've heard people put it in a sock and gently tap it over the dog's coat. The other complaint I've heard is of dog's skin getting super dry from it, so you'd have to see if it does that to your dog. Maybe add a fish oil supplement during the months you use it to try and counteract the drying affect.

Just make sure you use food grade, I guess non-food grade (whatever that would be) is very toxic.
