Beach Boy Blues

While out at the beach yesterday my pup Taz seems to have gotten sand in his eyes; he looked fine yesterday but woke up this morning with them almost swollen shut. He doesnt seem to be distressed, he's his usual bouncy self but with the swollen eyes.

Has this happened to anyone else? I was thinking it must be quite common for anyone who lives near the coast but I'm also worried about infection.

Is it Vet time?

if there is no discharge, i wouldn't go to the vet just yet.

mix up a solution of 1/4 teaspoon of good quality sea salt (don't use regular table salt tho) in 1 cup of filtered or distilled water in a small bottle or resealable container. use a dropper or syringe without needle and gently rinse the eyes 2-3 times daily. follow up with a drop of almond oil or castor oil in each eye.

you should see improvement within 24 to 48 hours.
