My heart rate during the day like walking around/sitting/working is only 56-60 while my resting heart rate when I lay in bed is around 42-44. Is this a cause for concern?

I did go to my family doctor once and she measured 56 at the office and she said it was a little slow but since I don't feel ill, it shouldn't be a cause for worry.

The thing is, I don't really exercise a lot or very intensely when I do.. So I don't think my heart rate is low because I'm super fit??? I used to do a lot of sports between 7-15 but I'm 22 now and rarely even go to the gym.. Should I be worried and keep prodding my doctor for more tests?

I don't feel sick or anything except my body temperate seems to be lower than everyone else's around me especially when it's bed time and my heart rate is in the 40s.

My dad has a low resting heart rate (in the 50s) - his doc keeps an eye on it, but just says it's a sign of an especially efficient heart and that he's lucky he doesn't have to work hard to have such a rate.

Mine is in the 60s iirc and I've heard similar things from my doc.

Mine is just under sixty at resting. I'm 27 and in sort of shape. My dad has the same thing, his doctor said that as long as it speeds up when it needs to there's no need to worry.

Low heart rate + low body temp can be a sign of hypothyroidism, so you might want to get that checked. What's your blood pressure?

My resting heart rate was usually 55ish (not sleeping resting, but just throughout the day) and my BP was often 95ish/50ish. I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Now that I'm on adderall, my pulse and BP are higher (65ish and 115ish/60sh) and I feel SO much better. I don't know that it's necessarily because of the increased pulse/bp, or if it's the drug itself (it was prescribed for executive functioning disorder as a result of autism), but I feel amazing now.

I'd keep poking. There's no harm in testing. If everything comes back great, then that's great, but if there IS something to be found, it's best to find it.

My blood pressure the last few times I checked were around 110/75ish.

My resting heart rate when I'm sitting on the sofa or lying in bed (not asleep) in the evening is usually around 42-46, that seems awfully slow to me. But I know nothing about heart rate and blood pressure and the doctor didn't seem too worried.

What are some other symptoms of hypothyroidism? Is it often that people have it are undiagnosed or unaware? Or are there usually pretty severe symptoms?

The problem is, because I'm being covered by government health insurance and I don't have private coverage, the doctor doesn't like to send me in for any serious tests or specialists. Or maybe she's truly not worried and think I'm fine but I tried to ask her to do more tests and she dismissed my requests last time and said I was fine.

I have hypothyroidism. Lack of energy, weight gain (wasn't an issue for me but obviously very common), etc. I didn't suspect I had it, my doctor ran a very thorough blood panel when they were testing all my food and environmental allergies. There are varying levels. I do have a low heart rate. Couldn't hurt to take some blood and test for it, I feel sooo much better on meds for it :)

My resting rate is in the 40's typically. My doctor often has stated that I "have the heart of an athlete".

If you're concerned, check with your doctor. There may be an issue or not.
