Sophie has scraped the inside of her left rear ankle(do dogs have ankles?) about 2 weeks ago. I applied Polysporin on several occassions but she insists on licking the wound. Is there something else I can apply that would do a better job at promoting healing? Thanks for your feedback!

Try Cut Heal Wound Spray. You can get this at Tractor Supply or on line.

Someone on my Anatolian board used Emu Oil spray made for healing. She got it from All Natural Laid in Montana Emu Oil. Here's the webiste:

Apply the antibiotic ointment, then a non-adherent gauze pad, and then wrap it in that coflex blue stuff that vets use so she can't lick it off.

Although, if it's 2 weeks old, it should be pretty well on its way to healing. How's it look?

If it's licking that is keeping it icky then stick a collar on her or cover it up somehow.

The wound is wet to where dirt will adhere. But that's probably from her licking it. I'll try covering it and see how she reacts. Thanks for your advice.
