Dewclaws?

Every dog I've owned has had front dew claws and they use them daily. I would never dream of removing them. Teeny was my first dog to ever have rear dew claws and at first I was freaked out, but she's never had an issue. Isey also has rear dew claws without a problem.

Everyone but Aesop has thumbs. Though I guess of all the dogs to lack them, he's the best choice..he doesn't use his feet for things as he hates getting his feet dirty... None of my thumbed dogs have had issues with their dews..no tears and I just keep them dremeled when I do the other nails.

I think that unless they are causing issues, I'd always choose to leave them be.
