Our shelter got in a huge dog that they were calling a shepherd mix, but he looks a lot like an anatolian shepherd. I don't know if he is for sure, but they were convinced that he is, so that is the breed they are putting on his paperwork. I'll try to get a better picture of him next time I go up there, but here is a pic from the shelter. It is a front pic, so you can't really see his body too well.

I absolutely love Anatolian shepherds and hope to own one someday. I plan to get my future AS from an Anatolian shepherd rescue in Arizona.

I sent the link to 2 Anatolian Rescues and already heard back from one last night that they are checking on him.

My Max is 35 1/2 " at the withers which is tall; the standard for an Anatolian is shorter than my Max. They also come in many colors and hair lengths.

They changed it to "atolian shepherd" =P

My neighbor has one (as well as a lab, a pit bull and a rottweiler), and he is a smart (but loud) boy. They are great dogs..

I dont know if yall still have him or whatnot but I wanted to throw out Walker is a Anatolian Shepard Hound mix and he is only 65-70 pound and a lil over the knees of a 5 ft woman.
