Newmans own organic dog food.

how does this food rate as far as kibble is concerned. I noticed it on the shelf and ive never seen it before. There is also canned food. the canned food was $1.59 a can, it is much cheaper and better for her for me to make her food for her .
I should add I like the list of "whats not" in it. I did buy a sample bag for Dusty and she liked it well enough.

For the price, I think there are a lot of better foods. However, it isn't bad.

I don't like that the first ingredient is chicken (instead of chicken meal), the soy meal, the barley, or the oats.

Isn't it better for the first ingrediant to be chicken instead of chicken meal?

I'd rather see the first ingredient as chicken meal--- chicken contains mostly water... so it drops further down the ingredients list once cooked. Chicken meal is already cooked therefore it weighs more.

The problem with organic foods is that the ingredients are expensive, therefore they are VERY grain heavy.
