Not too old. Where are you moving?

You can find plans online for PVC-based weave poles, and you can buy hardware for the A-frame and the teeter base, then attach the boards yourself to save some money ... chute and tunnel I would just buy ...

Four is certainly not too old. Personally I would wait until I had moved to obtain the larger, heavier agility equipment, it really is a pain in the butt to transport. At least the regulation equipment is lol. Before you get the equipment, I would recommend purchasing some books and dvd's on training agility. You can get all you need at www.cleanrun.com
Finding a good instructor is also very important, one that is competing now, has titled dogs, and continues to train with other top instructors etc. btw, agility is a blast.
Good luck

I started my dog at 6, so 4 is definitely not too old. :)

I don't recommend buying equipment. You can make it just as sturdy(if not more) at home for half the price.

cool. i didn't think he was too old. he doesn't have any health issues at all. and from what i've just been mucking around with. agility sounds awesome. i do hoop jumps and just standard jumps with him a lot. he isn't over nervous about anything so i know he could do the chute. i'm not sure how he is with things like the see-saw. i don't know how he is with things moving under ihis feet.

we are moving to the sunshine coast. just north of brisbane in queensland. i'm also going to find a trainer to do one on one work with him. just to help socialise him a bit more. he's okay around dogs now but last thing i need is him off leash on an agil8ity course and to take off at a dog or to be too distracted to perform.
