Can Rotties have white points? We had one at work today that had white on the eyespots and legs, where a normal Rottie would have tan. The owners rescued her, and say she has looked like that since they got her at 2. Otherwise, she looks like a purebred Rott.
I know Rotts can get a disease that causes them to lose pigment (I think it might be the same thing Michael Jackson had?), but would they just lose pigment in the brown parts?

could be the points are being affected by a shading gene & they just look white next tot the black & are really more a cream color like "white" labs especially if it's not pure like say a rottXlab

No, she was whiter than snow. I acutally thought it might be cream and held a piece of computer paper next to the white parts to check. Lovely, lovely dog.
