Could a major move(major stress) in an older dogs life cause him to blow his coat bad? As in blowing his coat normally then wham its horrible?

It could... but to be sure I would probably set up a vet visit.

Watson stress sheds quite noticeably...

I'd say so. My RR gets stressed in the car and blows his coat. I'd say that moving could be similar.

Zander moved up here with us in January. His coat WILL NOT stop blowing. It's crazy. I'm not sure if it was the stress or the crazy weather, but I'm guessing a little of both. Snow one week and 90s the next doesn't really convince a dog to blow properly! I brush it all out and he's fine, and then it's falling out in chunks again, like it re-blows.

He also sheds noticeably more in the car or when he is freaked about something. So it's possible.
