How many treats??

Which store bought treats are beneficial for dogs? I have been withholding all treats but a few fruits and vegetables to maintain my older dogs weight. However, he LOVES treats. When we visit a certain friend, he crashes around her house looking for the treats her dog strews around (bones and chews and things). Should I let up a little? Which would be best to give him? Obviously he doesn't NEED them, but I like making his life grand and would give him treats if they weren't to bad. Any opinions?

Stay away from anything that contains a lot of artificial ingredients and sweeteners and simply include caloric amounts of treats in your dog's daily food allowance to maintain weight.

I get the Innova treats. They have virtually the same ingredients as their kibble.
