Eye Ulcer?

Hey All,

Well last week we noticed Pearl was squinting her eye, and then by nightfall, she couldn't even open up. So trip to the vet, and 2 drops later, we are sent on our way saying its a eye ulcer, and should clear up with the drops. We went back in on Tuesday, and now we are giving the meds every 2 hours, with another drop added to the other 2, putting us at 3. Now tonight I've noticed the other eye is starting to do the same thing. We have a check up on Friday, and am going to address the other eye. She said if it didnt clear up, she would refer us to a optomoligist.

Has anyone dealth with dogs with eye ulcers? If so, what helped/didnt help, and how long did it take to heal up?

my old poodle had one and it took forever to get it to heal.

a lot of times eye ulcers are routine- you do the drops, they heal. sometimes they're not. i'd definitely do the ophthalmologist consult if it's not getting better by your next recheck.
