hey everybody! i just signed up for several dog discussion forums to get other people's advice about how to train my dog (pretty typical reason, huh?). she's a three-year-old golden named penny and a very sweet, affectionate and smart puppy. she's learned lots of neato tricks like high fives and taking a bow, and jumping over things (like me! haha - i'll get on my hands and knees and say "over, penny!" and she'll jump over me! it's adorable and i'm so proud of her because i taught her pretty much everything she knows.
we have, however, been having diffuculty with the come command, as crucial as that is (i've posted on the behavior and training forum about this) but i'm very willing to work with her and spend the time necessary.
i'll be a senior in highschool next year and then off to college for me (YAY) and my mother says that penny is going to be playing a major part in helping her cope (i'm the youngest in my family, but i think my mom will be happy to have me out of the house... hahaa). she calls penny her eternal toddler, which i guess pretty much describes her as she hasn't reached her CALM stage yet... to say the least. but we love her very much!
anyways just wanted to introduce myself, and i look forward to talking with everybody and getting advice, and maybe giving some too, who knows!
i'll be talking to you all soon!! -meg
