I know there was some really good articles someone from here posted about the pros and cons of early neutersing vs neutering after full maturity, but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone help?

The reason I need it is because we were visited by an aunt of mine and according to her me and my sister are killing shelter dogs, irrisponsible, promoting our dogs to hump and be aggressive to other dogs, as well as my sister abusing her female dog who is under a year by forcing her to go through "extremely painful" heats. Yeah, so all of that is complete crap as neither dog humps more than other dogs, neither is aggressive, or have real big issues from being intact and neither will be bred. She apparently didn't take my sisters opinion at all. If I was there I'd educate her but instead she waited to say something after I left.

So after she conveniently posted on Facebook about het being against animal cuelty I figure I'll post my opinion on the subject.

But anyway, here's the much passed around article that condenses a lot of information on spaying/neutering: http://www.naiaonline.org/pdfs/LongTermHealthEffectsOfSpayNeuterInDogs.pdf

Here's the Chris Zink article on neutering for canine athletes: http://www.caninesports.com/uploads/1/5/3/1/15319800/spay_neuter_considerations_2013.pdf

Here's a study addressing behavioral issues: http://www.vizslacanada.ca/SNBehaviorBoneDataSnapShot.pdf

Here's a video, but two things: 1.) I doubt you'll convince your aunt to watch it but if she does, it might help change her perspective. 2.) Much about this video is emotional and subjective. It has some really good facts and simple explanations of why s/n can have negative effects on dogs but make no mistake, it's emotional and far from impartial. Still, I like that it's from the perspective of a vet who used to also be radically pro spay/neuter and has since changed her mind. So take it or leave it, depending on how you feel. (I also don't like the title... like I said, it's all pretty emotional charged.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enPCZA1WFKY
