Tea. Oh god the tea.
Uh, that's a necessity. I'm NOT a happy person without tea :rofl1:

But really, I usually end up getting amazing deals on loose tea that make it cheaper than the crap at the grocery store, anyway. At least half, if not more, of the tea I currently have was completely free.

I can't walk past a charity shop without delving in it to look for clothes.... That's a sort of splurge/dirty secret. Hardly splurge really, more dirty secret :D

My pets in general. It's super hard for me to justify buying "big things" for myself (I haven't shopped at a regular store for clothes in a long, long time) but spend $70 on a new winter jacket for Buzz, sure!

I'm seriously bad.

The dogs. I hardly ever spend money on myself at all, and when I do I feel guilty haha. But I think nothing of spending a lot on the dogs, even when it's something they don't actually need, but just something I want to get for one of them anyway. Right now dog classes are my biggest splurge. Technically I don't have to be taking as many as I am, but I love learning different ways of doing things and I love dog classes and always look forward to going.

Other than that, I'm not sure. Eating out maybe. I like going out somewhere for dinner once or twice a month. It's definitely not necessary, but I get bored with the same old food at home and like to go out for dinner instead sometimes.

Camera stuff used to be one. I'm done with camera stuff for now though. Last year was my big camera spending year with a very expensive new lens and a new camera. I don't need anything else for a while now.

I don't think I have one thing! I just go through random spurts where I want splurge on ALL the things.

For the most part I'm good about saving money. But sometimes it's like ooh new clothes! Oooh new stuff for dogs! Ooh fast food for lunch! And then I spend like a bajillion dollars in one weekend but that will hold me over until the next spending spree.

Umm...a lot of things, I guess.

-Vacations (planning Ireland for spring break, back to Italy in June)
-House remodeling (I guess we could learn to do it ourselves, but it's really just not appealing at all. I'd rather have the time and pay someone to do it for me)
-Dog classes ($200 every 7 weeks)

My splurge stores are Ross/TJ Maxx/Home Goods. I am a deal hunter.

- Starbucks. Venti everything.
- Make-up.
- Bath and Body works. Aromatherapy line kills me.
- Hair care/hair dye. My hair doesn't NEED to be flaming red.

I alternate between what I splurge on the most. I get obsessions.

As far as Zander, there is an entire closet in this house dedicated to the crap I buy for him that I will NEVER USE. Grooming, toys, shampoo, conditioner, collars, leashes....lately treats, chewies...just ALL THE THINGS.

Splurges... funny thing, that. If you were to ask me publicly (because this really isn't public, right?) I'd say I don't splurge because splurging is the biggest financial sin when you're following a budget. Purchases should be well thought out, days in advance, and be things you could absolutely not live without. We're nearing retirement age and I don't want to be stuck eating catfood casserole in my old age.

But when nobody's looking...

Purses. Not trendy expensive things with fancy patterns and gilded logos, but real purses for real people. Backpacks for hiking, messenger bags for walking, purses for everyday and small little things for when I have just too much stuff to fit in my pockets. But only two fancy small clutch purses for when I have to go somewhere dressed up (that I can't get out of). These purses all have to be comfortable to wear, and roomy enough to carry all my "stuff" without looking too bulky (although I'm still searching for a clutch purse that will fit my iPad). I have many. Many, many... many. So many I couldn't even give a number. The number is so embarrassing that if my husband were to walk into the room right now I'd quickly delete this post and surf porn, because it would be less humiliating that admitting to my purse addiction.

One thing? Eeek I have a good handful :yikes:

1. Vacations. Like Cali, we love international travel. We usually do one international trip a year, and at least 1 other smaller trip.

2. Landscaping. During the winters, we have landscapers come twice a month. During the summers, we have them come weekly. It's so nice to not have to worry about mowing the lawn, edging, and trimming our shrubbery.

3. Hobbies. My "expensive" one is photography. My husband's is his reef aquarium and autocross/HPDE. He does at least 3 HPDE events a year, which end up being close to $1000 a pop with fees, hotel, and equipment.

4. Candles. Haha. I'm a sucker for Yankee Candles and Bath and Body Works candles. I can't leave either of those stores without spending at least $50 on candles.
